About this gingerbread girl cookie cutter
The gingerbread girl is the companion to the gingerbread man, and she has her own silhouette: two round pigtail buns on her head, the same friendly outstretched arms and an A-line dress with two rounded legs below. At the default 100 mm she is 100 mm tall and about 85 mm wide; her head is about 31 mm across and each bun about 16 mm.
The dress gives the cookie a wide, solid middle – about 60 mm across at the hem – so she is sturdier than most figure cutters. The buns overlap the head, and the hands and feet are rounded and roughly 13–15 mm thick, so nothing thin sticks out. She cuts cleanly from about 70 mm up.
Bake her with the gingerbread man for a matching pair, or make a whole gingerbread family by printing both at 100 mm for adults and 70 mm for children. A gingerbread family with names piped on makes a sweet gift for grandparents.
Size guide
The Size setting is the cookie’s longest side. This is how big the gingerbread girl cookie comes out at a few common sizes – the generator shows the exact numbers for any size from 30 to 200 mm.
| Size setting | Cookie (width × height) | Blade | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 mm | 51 × 60 mm | 1.0 mm | Bite-size cookies, cupcake and drink toppers |
| 100 mm | 85 × 100 mm | 1.0 mm | Default – a standard cookie, fits most gift boxes |
| 120 mm | 102 × 120 mm | 1.0 mm | Large gift cookies and centrepieces |
Dough and baking tips
Classic gingerbread works best: it is firm, holds the dress edges sharp and does not spread much. Roll to 5 mm and chill the cut figures for 10 minutes. Lift each cookie by sliding a palette knife under the dress, the widest part, so the head and buns do not bend.
Decorating ideas
- Pipe a scalloped line along the hem and a collar at the neck, then add three buttons down the dress.
- Flood the dress in a bright colour and leave the arms, legs and face bare gingerbread for contrast.
- Tie a tiny piped bow on each bun and add rosy cheeks with a dab of pink icing or petal dust.
Printing this cutter
- Material: PLA or PETG, ideally a filament sold as suitable for food contact
- Settings: 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers, 2–3 walls, no supports – the STL is already rim-down
- Blade: 1.0 mm thick and 15 mm tall by default; use 1.2 mm above 120 mm
- Print time: roughly 25–40 minutes at the default size
