Privacy Policy

Your files stay on your device
Images, text and designs you use in our tools are processed entirely in your web browser. They are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
Basic, privacy-friendly analytics
We may use cookie-free, aggregated analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views and understand which tools are useful. This does not identify you personally.
When you start a download, we count it by bench and broad file type (such as STL or ZIP), grouped by day. We also keep a short record of each download so we can see which tools are used and when: the time, the tool, the preset you picked (for example "heart" or "spur gear", never text you typed), the file type, your country (from Cloudflare, not your address), whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, the website that sent you here (its name only, such as reddit.com), and a random number your browser makes for this visit so several downloads in one visit can be grouped. That number is forgotten when you close the tab, and it is not linked to you – unless you place a print order in that visit, when it is kept with the order (see Print orders). We do not send or store filenames, your typed text or settings, uploaded file names, IP addresses or your browser's identification string, and these records are deleted after 12 months. A download record means a download was started; the browser does not tell us whether the file was ultimately saved.
Tool requests
If you request a tool or vote for one at /requests, we store the request text you type. To allow one vote per person, we keep a one-way, salted hash of your IP address – not the address itself – which can't be turned back into your IP. If you choose to give an email address, we use it only to tell you when that tool is ready, and never share or sell it. Email us to have your email removed.
Pro waitlist
If you join the Pro waitlist at /pro, we store your email address, the tools you ticked and any note you type, and which tool you came from. We use it only to email you when Pro opens, and never share or sell it. We also count visits to that page by tool, without identifying you. Email us to have your details removed.
Print orders
In India, the 3D printing tools offer “No printer? Get it printed” by Emrak Technologies, the team behind 3D MakerBench. If you use it, we store the design file you made (and, on the Lithophane Maker, a small preview of your photo) with an order code, so Emrak can print exactly what you designed. With the order we also keep some background to help us serve you: the design's settings, the tool page, your approximate location (city, state and country, worked out by Cloudflare from your network – often only roughly right on mobile networks), whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, the website that sent you here (its name only), when WhatsApp was opened for the order, and the download record of that visit (which tools you downloaded from in the same tab before ordering). We do not store your IP address, your browser's identification string, or your name, number or email; your name and number are only shared with Emrak when you choose to send the WhatsApp message. Stored design files are deleted after 30 days. Emrak may decline to print photos or designs it isn't allowed to reproduce.
Feedback and sharing
Under each tool you can tell us whether your print came out well and, if not, what went wrong. We count the yes/no answers per tool and store any note you write (and your email only if you add one, to reply). The “Share this design” button uses your device's own share menu or copies a link; the link contains your settings (for example the text of a keychain) only because you chose to share it. We count share taps per tool, without identifying you.
Hosting
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the website.
Changes
If we add features such as accounts, payments or advertising, this policy will be updated before they go live.
