About this peacock feather cookie cutter
The peacock is India’s national bird and its feather, linked with Lord Krishna, turns up everywhere at festival time – on rangoli, on gift wrap, on sweet boxes. This cutter gives you a teardrop-shaped feather head on a long, straight quill, about 95 mm tall and 44 mm wide at the default size.
The shape is kept deliberately simple so the icing does the work. Flood the head in green, then, while it is still wet, drop in a large teal ring, a smaller blue ring and a gold or dark blue centre. Drag a toothpick lightly outwards through the rings and you get a convincing feather eye in under a minute.
The quill is about 7 mm wide at 95 mm. It bakes fine in a firm dough, but it is the first part to break if you cut too small, so stay at 85 mm or above. Several feathers fanned out in a semicircle make a striking centrepiece for a Diwali dessert table.

Decorating idea
Flood green, then drop blue, teal and gold rings in the centre to make the feather eye.
Printing this cutter
- Material: PLA or PETG, ideally a filament sold as suitable for food contact
- Settings: 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers, 2–3 walls, no supports – the STL is already rim-down
- Blade: 1.0 mm thick and 15 mm tall by default; use 1.2 mm above 120 mm
- Print time: roughly 25–40 minutes at the default size
