About this christmas stocking cookie cutter
The stocking is the best Christmas cutter for personalising. The cuff is a wide, flat rectangle – about 47 mm wide and 19 mm tall at the default 95 mm – which is exactly the space you need to pipe a name. The whole cookie is 95 mm tall and about 71 mm wide, with the foot kicking out to the right and a rounded toe.
The ankle and heel are smooth curves and the toe is round, so there are no thin parts to burn. The cuff sticks out a little on both sides of the leg, which makes the stocking easy to recognise even before it is decorated. It cuts well from about 60 to 130 mm; at 120 mm and up, use a 1.2 mm blade so the long straight sides stay stiff.
Stocking cookies make easy place cards for Christmas dinner: one per guest, each with a name on the cuff. They also make good gift tags – press a hole through the cuff with a straw before baking, thread a ribbon through and tie the cookie to a present.
Size guide

Dough and baking tips
Use a dough that bakes flat so the cuff stays a smooth writing surface: a sugar cookie with little or no baking powder is ideal. Roll to 5–6 mm, chill, and bake until the edges just colour. Let the cookies cool completely before you pipe names, or the icing will run.
Decorating ideas
- Flood the stocking red, leave the cuff white, and write a name on the cuff with a fine tip in red or green.
- Dip the cuff in white icing and then in desiccated coconut for a fluffy trim.
- Pipe stripes, a candy cane or a tiny present peeking out of the top so each stocking looks filled.

- Material: PLA or PETG, ideally a filament sold as suitable for food contact
- Settings: 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers, 2–3 walls, no supports – the STL is already rim-down
- Blade: 1.0 mm thick and 15 mm tall by default; use 1.2 mm above 120 mm
- Print time: roughly 25–40 minutes at the default size
