How to make a hose or pipe adapter
- Measure both ends. Use hose ID for barbs, pipe OD for sockets, and pipe ID for spigots. Vacuum cuff sizes are typical; measure yours.
- Choose the connection type at each end. End A prints on the bed. The model adds a continuous flow bore and tapers reductions at 45° or less.
- Set the clearance and wall. If a fit is tight or loose, adjust clearance and print a short fit check before the full adapter.
- Print upright as downloaded. Use PETG or ASA for tougher service. This is for low-pressure hobby use only.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my hose or pipe?
Measure hose inside diameter (ID) for a barb, pipe outside diameter (OD) for a socket, and the receiving pipe inside diameter for a spigot. Use calipers and choose Custom if the listed nominal size differs from your part.
Which material should I print?
PETG is a good starting choice; ASA is better outdoors. Do not use PLA with hot water or where heat can soften it. Material choice does not make this adapter pressure-rated.
Can I use this on a pressurised line?
This generator is for low-pressure hobby and workshop adapters only. Add a hose clamp for a low-pressure hose connection. Do not use it for mains water pressure, gas, fuel, potable-water systems or safety-critical service.
Why does it print upright?
The bore stays vertical and the connector shoulders use gradual transitions. End A is on the build plate. Inspect the preview and print a small fit check before using the adapter.
Does it make threaded fittings, elbows or tees?
Not yet. Garden-hose threads, BSP/NPT threads, elbows, tees and Y fittings are outside this version.
How do I get a reliable fit?
Measure the actual hose or pipe, start with the default clearance, then print a short fit sample. Printers, materials and flexible hoses vary, so a nominal standard size may need adjustment.
