Make a number plate keychain in four steps
- Pick the plate style: India car (one line, with the wheel and IND on the left), India bike (two lines), EU (country band) US (state name on top), or Dubai long and short (code letter, DUBAI / دبي and the number).
- Type the number, e.g.
TN 09 AB 1234. It is changed to capitals automatically and the letters are squeezed to fit like a real plate font. - Choose the size and where the key ring goes – left or top. The ring tab sits outside the plate, so it never cuts into the letters.
- Download one STL, or the multi-colour ZIP for AMS / MMU printers.
Printing it in plate colours
| Printer | What to do |
|---|---|
| Single colour | Print in white or yellow and add a filament change at the height shown under the preview (the plate thickness, 2.4 mm by default). The border, letters and the IND wheel (or EU band) print in the second colour, e.g. black – a single change can’t make the wheel blue. |
| AMS, MMU or tool-changer | Download the multi-colour ZIP, load all the STLs as one object with several parts and assign white to the base, black to the letters + border and blue to the mark (India wheel + IND) or band (EU). A Dubai plate is two parts (white base, black letters + border), or three if you print the DUBAI / دبي name in its own colour. |
| Back text | The name on the back is engraved into the first layers, so it shows up in the base colour – no extra step. |
Recommended print settings
| Setting | Value |

| Walls / infill | 3 walls, 100% infill – the keychain is small and stays strong |
| Supports | None. Print flat, letters up. |
A gift for a new car or bike
A number plate keychain is a simple, personal gift when someone brings home a new vehicle – around Dhanteras and Diwali, for a first bike, or when a family car arrives. Print it in the plate colours, add a name or the date on the back, and hang it on the new keys. For other personal prints, try the name keychain generator.
Frequently asked questions
Can I sell the keychains I print?
Yes. Anything you make with this generator is yours to print, give or sell, with no licence fee and no attribution needed. Only put real numbers on a keychain with the owner’s permission, and remember a keychain is a souvenir – it is not a legal plate.
How do I print it in two or three colours?
On a single-colour printer, add a filament change (pause) at the height shown under the preview: the base prints in the first colour, and the border, letters and the IND wheel (or EU band) come out in the second – so with one change the wheel and IND are the same colour as the letters. For the real look – white plate, black letters and border, blue wheel and IND – use AMS, MMU or a tool-changer with the multi-colour ZIP: base, letters + border, and mark (or EU band) are separate STLs that line up exactly. You can also do it by hand: pause at the colour-change height and swap filament twice using the slicer’s per-part colours. On Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer it is even simpler: download the Colour 3MF – one file in which every colour is already a part set to its own filament (1, 2, 3…), so it is ready to print on an AMS.
Is it a good Dhanteras or new-car gift?
It is a popular one. Type the number of the new car or bike, print it in the plate colours, and hand it over with the keys. Add the owner’s name or the date on the back so it becomes a keepsake.
Why does a bike plate have two lines?
Indian two-wheeler plates usually show the state and district code on the top line and the series and number below. The generator splits the number at the second space (TN 09 / AB 1234); type a / to choose the break yourself.
Is the wheel an official emblem?
No. Like a real HSRP plate, the India styles have a small spoked wheel above raised “IND” letters on the left, but the wheel is a plain generic design. No official emblems, holograms, chromium marks or security codes are reproduced. The EU style has a plain blue band with your country code.
Can I make a Dubai number plate keychain?
Yes. Pick Dubai long (one row: code letter, the name DUBAI with دبي above it, then the number, like the current RTA plates) or Dubai short (code and name on top, the number below). Type the code – one letter, or two like AA – and up to 5 digits, e.g. A 12345. The name is plain text in a free Arabic font, not the official Dubai logo, and it can print black with the letters or as its own colour part.
What size should I choose?
Standard (60 mm wide) suits most key rings. Mini (50 mm) is neat for bag tags but long numbers get small letters; large (80 mm) gives the clearest letters. Keep letters at least 4 mm tall for a 0.4 mm nozzle.
